This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

I’ve heard it said, Home is where your heart is. If this is true then I am at home here in the Tulsa area.

I currently reside in Kiefer Oklahoma. Kiefer is quite a small town that is now growing at an incredible pace. It has that small town vibe that I am used to. Life there is slower than in the city of Tulsa. You can sit on the front porch and listen to the coyotes at night howling at the moon. I live outside the city limits so I can watch my horses graze the green grass from my front porch. It takes me back to my childhood, that was so long ago. Bullfrogs croak after a fresh spring rain and occasionally you can catch a few crawdads in my front yard, but not enough for a boil. I love it. After a hard day’s work just to be able to sit on the porch, listen to all the sounds and smell the wild honeysuckle that grows in the spring is truly when I realize how truly blessed I am as the owner of a Chevy and Dodge truck repair shop Tulsa

Here is a lot different from where I was born and raised. In the panhandle of Texas it was windy, dry in the summertime and dry in the winter time as well. Here you smell flowers, grass and fresh rain, there you smell cattle and dirt. Here there is just a little bit of wind, there you better cinch your hat down tight and wear some goggles.

About halfway between Amarillo and Lubbock Texas you can find a dot on a map called Happy texas. The town without a frown. Where the stop signs used to read Whoa. On a Friday night you can go down to the football field and watch some six man football action, but don’t be late; the game usually is over at half time. You can’t go to Walmart, Dollar General, or the mall. If you need something you go to the neighbor’s house. Very seldom will you return empty handed. That is just the way things are there. That is how I was raised, you help out when needed. From mowing what little grass there is to shoveling snow. From having a barbeque and feeding the whole block to feeding a family at a time of a lost loved one. It’s a community that takes care of their own. We lend a helping hand when needed and the same will be returned to you. But that was before I even thought about owning a Chevy and Dodge truck repair shop Tulsa.

This is where I found my amazing wife and her beautiful girls. She had two girls from a previous marriage. I have two kids from a previous marriage as well. She didn’t know for a long time, but every time she would bring her car into the shop to have work done on it I would head for the back door. I was too shy to talk to her forever. My day finally came when I was asked to give her kids a ride to the county stock show. I accepted and finally made contact with her. I finally got up the nerve to ask her on a date and she said yes. Our very first date was to a monster truck rally in Amarillo Texas. You might say we were inseparable from that night on. Seems like we were always together doing something on the weekends most of the time it was at a dirt track. We dated for four years before she finally agreed to marry me. That was September 2009 I think!

As we started out on this new journey we both wanted to start fresh and eventually opened our Chevy and Dodge truck repair shop Tulsa. Our kids were now out of high school and beginning to write their own story. We had been coming over here to Tulsa for the last few years to see family members on her side. We very much liked the area. It was completely different from Happy. There were trees, lakes, rain and oh yes humidity. We made up our mind and set out on this new journey. I will never forget the first summer here, Oh my gosh we both liked to die due to the humidity. We finally got accustomed to it though and now it is just normal. The first winter everyone was dressed like they were standing at the north pole while I wore a hoodie and nothing else. You know here we have a heat index in the summer, well in the Texas Panhandle we have a wind chill factor in the wintertime that is no joke. Nowadays in the winter I seem to look just like the rest of my fellows, bundled up from head to toe.

Springtime here is my favorite time of the year. Things seem to just explode to life overnight it almost seems for nature and our Chevy and Dodge truck repair shop Tulsa. The trees bloom and produce all kinds of colors to be admired and witnessed. Ponds are full of water and I take full advantage of fishing every pond that I can get permission to fish. Bass is on the top of the list, always catching and releasing. It is important to me to be able to return to the same hotspots and know that the fish will still be there. Some days are better than others but very few days do I come home without a selfie of me and my family holding a fish. Be sure to remember to hold this fish with outstretched arms so that it looks bigger.

There is always something to do in this area when you have a Chevy and Dodge truck repair shop Tulsa. The wife loves to go window shopping and there are plenty of retail stores and malls to accommodate her. The Tulsa Tough bike race is always at the top of the list, although I have never had the nerve to stand on the front lines at cry baby hill. The gathering place is known all around the world and when family comes to visit us we normally go see this amazing attraction. We also enjoy the gun shows and the state fair. Chili Bowl never disappoints and always gives me a reason to go and meet up with friends that I only get to see once a year. My favorite event that we do here in Tulsa has to be on thanksgiving day. We gather and go to Utica Square to hear Christmas Carol and watch them turn on the lights. We used to leave there and go shopping at our favorite stores for presents, but the pandemic changed all that and seems like now it’s all done over the internet. I look forward to a day when things get back to what I call normal and we can once again enjoy running from store to store catching all the doorbuster deals. THis may just be a memory but I sure hope not.

So I guess you can say home is where the heart is, and although I’m super grateful for my hometown and the people there that taught me and loved me, moving to Tulsa is probably one of the most important decisions that my wife and I have made. Don’t misunderstand me. I miss the people there and will never forget the memories bit i am currently making new ones in my new hometown the Tulsa metroplex.
